What our customers say about us
Dr. Hillier will treat you as a whole, not just your eyes.
Shannon Hillier is an experienced professional, and a wonderful person! She does a great job of connecting with every person that she talks to, and has a lot of expertise as an optometrist. I would highly recommend!
Anicia van Dyke
Shannon is the most pleasant eye Dr I have ever worked with. She is caring and has a true passion for what she does. She is not like your average Dr who sees you just to prescribe you things or fight the symptoms, she finds the main issue and corrects it so that you don't need her again (until maybe your checkup). :)
She is also mobile which I have to say is the BEST right now when leaving the house with my toddler is a major struggle. Thank you Dr Shannon for being you!
Chelsey Dorr
Shannon is a pillar of the community in all she does. Not only is she skilled, but she is compassionate and truly wants to help those in need. If you have an aging parent or know of someone who cannot make it in for an eye exam, Shannon is the person to call. Trust me, you won't be sorry.
Sheila Bradbury
Dr. Hillier is awesome, I had my eye exam and she solved an important issue I was dealing with and was bothering me a lot. I highly recommend her to everybody, she is very patient, explain everything to her patients and answer their questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the exam done in a van?
No, all of the equipment is completely mobile so the patient does not need to leave their house or even their bed.
Can you bill insurance?
Quest Mobile Vision is able to bill many insurance plans. And for those that are out of network, Dr. Hillier can provide a receipt at the end of the exam which can be submitted to insurance with a request for reimbursement.
Why is he wearing an eye patch?
Occasionally, an eye patch is applied over one eye following a surgical procedure to prevent the patient from rubbing their eye. In other cases, a person might patch one eye to prevent them from seeing double if their eyes are misaligned. Or maybe it’s National Talk Like a Pirate Day and they’re headed to Krispy Kreme?!
Do you have tests for non-verbal or cognitively challenge patients?
There are many different tests and tools that can be used to provide the same information. Some are subjective (asking the patient his/her input, for example, “Which is better: 1 or 2?”) and others are objective (they take a measurement and do not require input from the patient). This allows the doctor to determine a glasses prescription for patients that are non-verbal or cognitively challenged.
How long do appointments take?
The complete eye exam usually takes 30-45 minutes.
How long will it take to get my new glasses?
If new glasses would be beneficial, the patient may choose from one of two dozen affordable frames. Measurements are taken and the new glasses are mailed directly to the patient’s home in approximately two weeks.
Will I be able to see after my eyes are dilated?
Dilation increases the pupil size from approximately three to four hours. During this time, sunglasses are recommended if you are outside since your pupil will not constrict to reduce the light. Additionally, folks under 60 may find their near vision is more blurry during this time.
What if the patient is non-verbal?
No worries! Dr. Hillier has extensive experience working with the non-verbal population and many pieces of equipment allow for evaluation without the need for verbal response, including updating a glasses prescription.
Do you accept payment outside of insurance?
Payment can be made with cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, or Cash App.
What if i need glasses after my appointment?
After the exam, Dr. Hillier will discuss her findings with the patient and the care support team. If glasses would be beneficial, she has a selection of frames the patient can choose from and a complete pair of glasses can be mailed to the patient’s home, usually for less than $150.
What if I need further examinations?
If further evaluation or a procedure is recommended to preserve or improve the patient’s vision, and it is determined the patient is a good candidate, Dr. Hillier will make that referral.
